Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Luckysoft, Zurich, Switzerland ("Luckysoft", "we", "us", or "our") handles personal data for the Luckysoft website, File to Markdown, Splitpop, our contact and support flows, purchases, and related services.
1. Who is responsible
Luckysoft, Zurich, Switzerland is responsible for the processing described in this Privacy Policy unless a product-specific policy says otherwise.

2. How this policy relates to Splitpop
This Privacy Policy applies to Luckysoft generally. Splitpop also has product-specific legal pages at splitpop.app/privacy and splitpop.app/terms.
For Splitpop-specific cloud, group, expense, balance, purchase, or account behavior, the Splitpop-specific policy applies in addition to this policy and controls where it describes Splitpop more specifically.
3. Data we collect
We try to collect only what is needed to provide, protect, support, and improve our products. Depending on the product or service you use, we may process the following categories of data:
- Contact and support data, such as your name, contact details, message content, attachments you choose to send, product selection, and support history.
- Website data, such as pages visited, approximate location from IP address, device and browser information, referrer information, and basic logs needed for security and reliability.
- File to Markdown data, such as app settings, diagnostics, purchase status, and support messages. File contents are processed locally or on your device by default and are not collected by Luckysoft unless you intentionally send files or excerpts to us for support.
- Splitpop account and profile data, such as sign-in details, display name, profile information, preferences, purchase or subscription status, and account identifiers.
- Splitpop group and expense data, such as groups, participants, invited people, expense entries, balances, settlement information, notes, receipts or attachments you add, shared links, and related activity.
- Device, app, and diagnostic data, such as app version, device type, operating system, crash logs, performance data, error reports, and security logs.
- Payment-related data, such as purchase identifiers, subscription status, product purchased, renewal status, refund status, invoices, billing contact details, and limited payment metadata.
4. Payment and app store data
Purchases may be handled by Apple, Google, Stripe, or another checkout provider. Those providers process payment information under their own terms and privacy policies. Luckysoft does not receive full card numbers from Apple, Google, or Stripe.
We may receive limited information needed to confirm purchases, manage subscriptions, prevent fraud, provide support, keep accounting records, and comply with tax or legal duties.
5. How we use data
We use personal data for these purposes:
- To provide, maintain, secure, and improve our website, apps, cloud services, support, and purchases.
- To operate Splitpop features such as groups, expenses, balances, account access, sync, shared links, and support.
- To answer messages, process privacy or deletion requests, investigate issues, and communicate service-related information.
- To monitor reliability, diagnose crashes, detect abuse, prevent fraud, and protect users and our services.
- To process purchases, subscriptions, refunds, taxes, invoices, and platform or payment-provider records.
- To comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and defend our rights where necessary.
6. Legal bases
Where the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, the GDPR, or similar laws apply, we rely on the appropriate legal bases for the relevant processing activity. These may include performing a contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting our services, compliance with legal obligations, and establishing or defending legal claims.
You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, but that does not affect processing that happened before withdrawal or processing that is allowed on another legal basis.
7. Third-party services
We use service providers to host, operate, sell, support, and improve our products. These providers may process data for us or as independent controllers depending on the service.
- Infrastructure, hosting, database, storage, and security providers.
- Sentry or similar diagnostic services for crash reports, error monitoring, and app reliability.
- Apple App Store and Google Play services for app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and platform analytics.
- Stripe for checkout, billing, payment processing, invoices, fraud prevention, and related payment operations.
- Support, workflow, communication, or issue-tracking tools used to respond to contact-form messages and product requests.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your File to Markdown file contents for advertising. We also do not knowingly use private Splitpop group or expense data for third-party advertising.
8. Sharing and disclosures
We may share personal data with service providers, payment and app store providers, professional advisers, authorities, courts, regulators, or other parties when needed to provide the services, comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, or complete a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
Splitpop is collaborative by design. Data you add to a group, shared link, participant list, expense, note, receipt, or balance may be visible to the people you invite or share it with.
9. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing services, maintaining accounts, resolving support issues, keeping security and audit logs, complying with tax and accounting duties, and defending legal claims.
If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal data where required and reasonably possible. Some information may remain in backups, logs, purchase records, tax records, dispute files, or legal records for a limited period where retention is required or permitted by law.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, receive a copy of, restrict, object to, or withdraw consent for certain processing of your personal data. You may also have a right to complain to a data protection authority.

11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. No app, cloud service, device, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be fully secure, error-free, or lossless. You are responsible for using secure devices, keeping account credentials confidential, and sharing information only with people you trust.
12. International transfers
Luckysoft is based in Switzerland. Our providers, users, and infrastructure may be located in Switzerland, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, the United States, or other countries. Where required, we use appropriate transfer safeguards such as contractual protections, adequacy decisions, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
13. Children and age
Luckysoft products are not directed to children under 16. If you are under 16, you may use our services only with consent from a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child in a way that requires parental consent and that consent was not provided, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our products, data practices, providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice where required.
